Help The Woman Campaign is built on the conviction that change comes from within communities — not from outside them. Our team reflects that belief. We are Nigerians, from Akwa Ibom, who know these communities, speak these languages, and have chosen to dedicate our work to this mission.
Itoro founded Help The Woman Campaign in 2021 after witnessing first-hand the devastating impact of cervical cancer on women in her community — and realising that the tragedy was entirely preventable. A passionate advocate for women’s health and community empowerment, Itoro has built HTWC from a grassroots awareness initiative into a recognised NGO reaching over 40,000 women.
Under her leadership, HTWC has trained 357 community health ambassadors, raised $57,000 for programs, and established a model of culturally sensitive health education that is increasingly recognised nationally and internationally. Itoro is a compelling public speaker, a published author, and a tireless campaigner for the women whose stories drive her work.

HTWC operates with a lean paid staff supported by a remarkable network of volunteer leaders — community coordinators, training facilitators, and program managers who give their time because they believe in the mission.
Each of our active outreach areas is managed by a trained Community Coordinator — a senior volunteer who oversees local health ambassadors, organises events, and reports program outcomes. Our coordinators are the operational backbone of everything we do in the field.
Our Training Facilitators design and deliver the volunteer training program that has equipped 357 health ambassadors with the knowledge and skills to educate their communities. Several of our facilitators are healthcare professionals who volunteer their expertise.
Our digital communications team manages our social media presence, website, and online campaigns — amplifying our message to the 30,000+ people we reach digitally every month.
